I'm no expert but there's a group called 'Kodo' that's been around for quite awhile and is the best known and traveled of the Japanese drum outfits. They have a large number of recordings available...in fact I first heard them on a Sheffield direct to disk years ago! I'm quite sure they also have video's as the performance aspect is quite a large part of the over-all effect. BTW Kodo tours regularly...I saw them last year here in Toronto...
