I love the re-issue of the Szell performances of Wagner on SACD. Still, the "ride", good as it is on that wonderful SACD, misses something.

Learsfool had me digging out my Solti Ring CDs on Decca for this. I've been putting off listening to these CDs for many years. The language, libretto, etc., etc.

If there is any other music that would prompt someone to spend large $K on equipment, I cannot imagine what it would be. I suppose the later re-issues on SACD and upsampled are even better than the original Decca CDs. Wagner was amazing in his music. His vision? Dunno, have not yet come to grips with that.
