RE: What is your favorite bleeding chunk Ride of the Valkyries?

The Szell/Cleveland only sounds right on vinyl....... My only negative with this work is Szell's adding an opera line, played by trumpeter Bernard Adelstein.... I would have rather heard the orchestral version unaltered.

The Ride of the Valkyries is interpretation friendly..... (Kind of like Beethoven's Fifth Symphony.....) Although I do prefer a slower tempo. I would look as much for the orchestra as the conductor. You can't beat the Szell era Cleveland Orchestra with this piece.
