I like Szell, but his recording on SACD is missing the underpinning that I noticed in an old Toscanini recording. The Semkow recording on MMG is decent, if only the high treble were reduced, again, the galloping underpinning is difficult to hear.
That Toscanini? I don't have the foggiest about where to look for it among the thousands of CDs I have laying about. Gosh, and it won't be too long until I'll have to be moving to a home.
