I encountered the same problem when I tried to measure the MG1.6. Inexpensive condenser microphones have a lot of low-frequency noise, so the sound card's mic input has a built-in high-pass filter. Not good for measurement. To avoid this, I used a microphone preamplifier plugged into the sound card's line input. The mic's LF noise floor exceeded the speaker's output below 35Hz at normal SPLs. Otherwise, my measured results were similar to Stereophile's with less averaging.
