Re: Ex-Speakers

Here's my speaker history in chronological order.

Electrovoice Leyton. These were hand-me-downs from my dad that I had up through college. With a 10" woofer and 5" cone "tweeter", they were truly horrible speakers. I was glad to give them back to my dad!

Infinity SM120. My first real speakers. 3-way speaker with a dome tweeter. They sounded good, had punch, but couldn't properly reproduce vocals. I kept these for the longest time (1986-2003).

Wharfedale Diamond 7.2. I bought these for use with my Korg keyboard. Every once in awhile, I swap them into my main system to remind myself what a box speaker sounds like. They don't stay there for long!

Magnepan MG1.6. My present speakers. These are the first speakers I've owned that don't sound like speakers. Though slightly idiosyncratic, the MG1.6 never ceases to amaze. I'll likely own these for years.
