Really thin speaker cables could also be used to add resistance, but one would need the right gauge/length to get the resistance within reasonable tolerance. I think its much easier to buy 2.2 ohm resistors.I experimented with different tweeter resistors and found that they couldn't eliminate the graininess without also making the sound dull. The mid-boost does not have this problem.
