Phase becomes less important as the bass and midrange panels are a significant fraction of a wavelength apart.A few years ago, I measured a null around 500Hz on my previous cone speakers that was very apparent to the microphone, but could not be heard by me. This puzzled me until I covered one ear. Have fun!
