I used to

You know a post from me has to be about my mid-boost mod .

What does that have to do with channel imbalance? In my experience, the MG1.6 soft-midrange voicing tends to accentuate channel imbalances - what sounded balanced to the recording engineer was no longer that way after both channel's mids were depressed by a few dB. Slightly more treble/bass on one side can turn into a lot more treble/bass. The MG1.6 can also magnify tonal imbalances (specifically EQ'ed up treble) for the same reason.

I found that fewer recordings suffer from these kinds of problems after the mid-boost mod.

You may want to listen through headphones for comparison since headphones tend to be more accurate.
