Its more of a shallow depression in the midrange, too small to be apparent on the Stereophile measurements , but its the reason why the MG1.6 can sound brighter and bassier than real life. Most people seem to like the soft-midrange voicing, but I prefer the sound of the MG1.6 with my mid-boost mod .The MG1.6 is an excellent speaker, but as you can see from reading this board, its also very improvable.
