impedance

The reason why electrostatics can be hard to drive is that they present a very low impedence ( <2 ohms) at 20KHz, and the load is capacitive, which makes the amplifier's negative feedback loop less stable (or possibly unstable).

While impedance isn't important to the listener, frequency response is. The Stereophile MG1.6 measurements don't show any real anomolies in the crossover region, but they may have had some difficulty in measuring a large dipole because the MG1.6 doesn't sound like what the graph implies (i.e. the treble doesn't sound shelved down).
