This is absolutely untrue. I've tried the Quad 988 directly with the Atma-Sphere M-60 MK II and Novacron. I've witnessed no stability problems whatsoever. Perhaps your test setup is in question. Furthermore, I have yet to find any speaker which has a stability problems with Atma-Sphere amplifiers. Sure, power may drop off dramatically, at lower impedances, especially with lower powered models, but there are certainly no stability issues.
