How's that for an answer?About 85% of the rock recordings I have sound bad on my Maggies due to excessive equalization, mixing, compression, and distortion in the recordings. The recording engineer's goal is not to capture the sound the way it is, but rather to manipulate it to sound a certain way (usually on a car radio).
The other 15% sounds very good.
