Awhile ago I posted a crossover mod to give the MG1.6 a more prominant midrange. The same idea may be applied to the MG12 using 1.5 ohm resistors rather than 2.2 ohms. Unfortunately, while the MG1.6 didn't require any internal modifications, the MG12 does: the woofer shunt cap must be lowered from 50uF to 25uF. If you're electrically-inclined and don't mind a voided warranty, you might want to give this a try.
