Making a proper acoustic measurement is beyond the means of a hobbyist (well, this hobbyist anyway). I did observe that the comb filter effects ceased above ~2 KHz, with the level reduced compared to the peaks in the midrange.I like Arbelos idea of modeling the acoustic response of the drivers as an underdamped filter. If only I could determine the parameters.
I understand the stock crossover being designed to compensate for a QR tweeter resonance, but I don't understand the physical mechanism that would make the resonance frequency so high (600Hz) given that the QR tweeter shares the same mylar panel as the woofer and is ~5x narrower. This is a similar question as discussed above.
