Thank you for your great review, Jerry! I hope you enjoyed CES.The last of the Carvers, called the Platinum MK IVs, are the ones to find. They are 91 dB efficient, and an almost a ruler flat 8 ohm load. They do well with my sixty watt Atma-Sphere M-60 MK IIs. In fact, these speakers are a great match for all but the low power OTL amplifiers. You definitely won't need a sub-woofer.
