Praise for the 3.7i, the perfect speaker for some set-ups.

There are lots of accolades for .7, 1.7, the new LRS, 20 series, 30 series and reverence for classic Tympani's, all of which are or were wonderful Maggie advancements at their respective price points. While there seems less discussion of the great mid-price range Maggies, the 3 series is the workhorse middle ground and first line in the hierarchy with the prized foil ribbon tweeter.

In my opinion, for whatever it's worth, this fine speaker system deserves a bit more discussion and praise than it usually receives. With the right subwoofer and power amplification this jewel can shine nearly as brightly as it's bigger brothers.

With good placement, including Mye stands, a Sanders Magtech preamp & amp (900wpc) and a well designed powered subwoofer a smooth balance can be achieved from top to bottom even in large cumbersome room designs. Love this system over five years now and doubt I could achieve greater satisfaction without tripling my budget and stepping up to the 20 series. Add a good front end source like a Naim CD player or decent turntable & cartridge and this will bring you closer to audio nirvana. So, hail the 3 series speaker and the 3.7i as the current iteration.

Cheers,
AuPh
