I would think the DSP/crossover probably processes the main speaker as well. If for nothing else but the HP filter to band-limit the amplifier used and normalize any latency relative to the woofer section. You would not want to create that HP passively because the component values are very large and you'd have a clunky external box like some of the pre-X.7 speakers again.
In my opinion, the LFT-8 speakers need further work in a number of areas. The integration/crossover between the cone woofer and the LFT panel being the primary issue. Those had some potential and I should have probably not sold them, but I had too many speakers already. :)
Just the 30.7-condo main section (without the woofers) would be of interest to me. I already have better woofers and could integrate them properly. That might be a neat system.
