I'm not sure Wendell's premise is correct regarding the (changing?) market. But, even if it is, should Magnepan alter their core products to try and cater to it?

Big speaker systems have been around for a long time. It's inherent in the requirements for high SPL and low-frequency extension that much air needs to be moved. This requires drivers with large surface area and/or large excursion capability. There's no way around the physics of that requirement.

There is also the "purity" aspect of a system like this which uses DSP processing. That right there might cause a percentage of potential Magnepan buyers to reject the product out of hand.

There's a lot to consider/risk here for Magnepan. I'm not sure Wendell has really considered the BIG picture that a shift in product focus like this would entail. Maybe he has, but I don't get that impression in listening to his presentations.
