RE: Intriguing analysis.

This does look like an interesting product that has strong up-market potential. My sense is that the demo system may provide greater satisfaction with some types of music than others, but that presupposes a lot that can't be sorted out unless attending a demo in person and comparing familiar music/masterings. Aesthetics and space considerations are another unknown at this time.

As configured, my 3.7i based system has well integrated deep bass slam and top to bottom cohesiveness in a fully energized listening room. It suits my tastes well on noteworthy, highly regarded CD masterings of classic rock recordings whiich make up better than 50% of my preferred listening diet/tastes. Since my listening doesn't include vinyl, that's a box I can't check. I'll gladly yield to others impressions on music that's less familiar and non-digital format.

The thought occurs to me that hearing range also factors into overall perception since age plays a role in how we assess a musical presentation. Unless I'm mistaken, most of the demo's attendees skewed north of 40. (Hey, I skew that way myself!). I'd be curious to read the impressions of younger listeners ...say aged 25 to 35... of this system since I'd assume the smaller footprint would trend to a younger demographic (millennial). Of course, I may be misjudging Wendell's target audience for this system, ...It might be downsizing sexagenarians.

I'll yield to other's impressions on excellent jazz and modern LPs that have a wonderful presentation on the system. The first thing I'd want to rule out are placebo effect influences of listening to a veiled system such as the shared impressions of a focus group of veteran listeners and professional reviewers, followed by listening to a home system hours later. This can only lend credence to the feeling that something is missing.

I'm sure you've played that one out in your head a bunch of times due to the gap between listening experiences. Those proprietary Class D driven bass panels and their positioning seem to be a key to the effective presentation of this system. Regardless of where the demo ends up production-wise, I suspect we'll hearing a lot more in the future about these di-pole bass speakers in the overall scheme of upscale Maggie production. Curtain aside, Wendell is a real wizard, not a humbug!

Cheers,
AuPh
