Intriguing analysis.

I'm curious about your overall impressions, especially in light of this comment:

"BTW, I listened 2.1 ... 3.7's with Nord One 700w/ch amp. Well-integrated subs only below 40Hz."

Are you referring to one or more DWM panels providing the below 40Hz low frequencies? A well integrated subwoofer would involve separate powered unit(s) that can actually plumb the depths of the lowest octave while balancing Maggie's strengths in mids and highs.

Also, is it possible that your room acoustics differ either marginally or dramatically from the meticulous room set-up Wendell provided for his showroom demo? I realize you probably didn't peak behind the curtain, but you probably got a good feel for the demo suite's size.and acoustics

I'd expect some clearly defined differences from an ideal demo setting and one's personal home environment. I'm very curious about your perceptions and system comparisons in respect to palpable midrange improvement and top to bottom cohesiveness of the demo. I'm a bit more dubious about bass integration that may result from room treatments and size/layout of listening rooms.

Note: My 2.1 system utilizes 3.7i (fueled by 900wpc Sanders Magtech) integrated with a carefully positioned single 15" powered subwoofer (Hsu Research ULS-1500, 600 continuous watts). My vaulted room's 20' ceiling has a lot more space to fill volume-wise than most home listening rooms.

Without actually seeing behind the curtain of Wendell's wizardly demo and evaluating first hand how something this powerfully evocative would work in my own listening environment it's hard to form ...much less inform... an opinion. Notwithstanding a wonderful demo the trial balloon is still loosely anchored in The Emerald City. In real world use, compromises are usually required. Also, I'd like to see something more familiar demo'd, not that I have a problem with orchestral, jazz ...or even Munchkin music.

Again, I'm not trying to throw shade on Wendell's demo or question the positive impressions of those fortunate enough to attend it. My jest about "30.7 for (Marie) Kondo" was just teasing the strange promotional campaign. So far, the reviews are very positive and fueling some serious excitement among Maggie fans, but until we get a look at the prospective product and understand more about it's cost and how it'll integrate in various settings this is all pretty much smoke and mirrors.

Cheers,
AuPh
