I do think this is a significant deviation from Magnepan's core competency that probably would not work out.

Even if proceeding, there is the differing product support issue to think about. I don't know if Wendell has considered that aspect, but it could be considerable.

Regardless, I guess it's a toe dipped in the pond to gauge the marketplace. That's not necessarily a bad thing.

But as you've correctly noted, this sort of basic approach with standard drivers in an open-baffle configuration is many years old. Woofers of this type well pre-date Linkwitz' Audio Artistry systems as well.

I'm still waiting to hear from Josh/somebody what is "patentable" about this double-dipole scheme. I suspect the ultimate conclusion will be that it's all marketing.
