I don't know if there are any X-O mods out there for the LRS or if they need any. As for comparing hardwood frames to the factory MDF, there is no comparison. It's obvious without having to do a direct comparison that the drivers in hardwood frames simply do things that the stock speakers don't. If there is any doubt simply re-frame one speaker and compare it to the stock one.
