Ah, the classic problem

Tubes or SS. Supposedly a tube preamp with a SS amp is the answer. Well,
maybe.

My observations are as follows: my experiences with Bryston amps are that
they are bright and hurt my ears. I avoid them. I do however like my
BCD-1 cd player.

I am currently driving a pair of LRS in a large room with a 100 wpc tube
integrated and having no problems. I do think a higher powered ss amp
might be desirable. However, I do like tubes and am disinclined to change
to an ss amp. I realize that 20.7s are an entirely different beast.

If I were you, I'd find a high powered tube amp.
