Most of the conductivity is in the plating and not the base material. And in this case, it's a also rather short electrical path.

There is room for improvement in the Magnepan connection scheme, but it's mostly about the mechanical interfaces vice the electrical properties of the materials used.

Please don't post silly responses like "why don't we use steel for PCB traces."
