You're confusing yourself by conflating the transducer response itself with how it might measure in an arrayed system. This cavity resonance is not "random," either directionally or non-directionally. I'm not sure how you formed that opinion, but it is incorrect.

Figure 1 is the on-axis (straight forward) measurement of the driver and clearly shows the 12khz resonance. That's not a random measurement result and all Neo8 drivers (regardless of whether used singly or in array) will exhibit this characteristic.
For grins, let's turn your logic around.
I suggest trying a 12khz notch filter in your setup. I expect you will see that it does NOT show up as a dip in the FR.....at a longer measuring distance. (This assumes you've held everything else in your measurement setup constant.)
