The XO-1 is just a single capacitor. Assuming a lightning strike, you could recreate it easily for about five bucks. :)

I'm still not sure that many inmates are understanding the "less signal path" aspect of line-level crossovers. I know it seems not intuitive, but they are indeed a much simpler setup. When you remove the high-level crossover and all the complex complexities they have, and then bandwidth-limit your power amps with a line-level crossover, your whole system is much less complex. It seems a difficult concept to grasp for many inmates, but it is nevertheless true.
