Everything you've stated about Grant's Mye stands is dead on! In fact, now that you've mentioned the improvement, there are a couple of other benefits that I consider worth discussing, if you don't mind my chiming in here.

Mye stands by design raise Maggies a bit more than the original stock stands. This seems to tighten the mid-bass slightly (my impression). Another benefit of Mye stands are the threaded feet or spikes that provide good floor/speaker coupling and allow fine tilt adjustment that improves speaker/room integration. With patience and trial and error a sweet balance between room reflections and speaker imaging can be achieved while reducing tweeter forwardness.

Of course, this is just my experience with 3.7i Maggies and every music aficionado is different, but I've been very happy with this set-up for going on five years now. Still love'em as much as the day they arrived!

Cheers,
AuPh
