I know it gets forgotten easily, but you might recall some of the complementary posts I've made regarding Danny in the past. Primarily, I've noted he doesn't charge ungodly amounts of money for his products/projects (like many in the audio industry do.) Decent value in most of all it, in my opinion.
That said, there's a reason he now rarely ventures outside of the Audiocircle-jerk forum. Danny and Brian both found themselves getting into pickles on HTGuide, here on AA, and a few other forums with eye-brow-raising posts regarding technical aspects of the projects they were (for whatever reason) just incapable of explaining.
But, this is not atypical behavior though. A lot of small operations venturing into this crazy marketplace need to establish some sort of differentiation with similar products. Part of the way you can do that is with an aloof/private approach to queries regarding products. But, trying to float the idea that servo-controlled bass units are something they've raised the bar on though was downright silly. That's where they ran into trouble.
These GT Audio bass units I suspect are excellent performers. That's a robust configuration, albeit expensive.
Dave.
