RE: Thoughts on custom room

Good points. Room size is a factor with any speaker system. That said, 3.7i Maggies should be just fine when combined with well integrated subs and amplification capable of delivering sufficient power into 4 ohm loads.

For instance, I'm working with a 22'x22'x20' which is lots of space to fill. My 3.7i system includes a 900 wpc amp with sufficient power to achieve imposing speaker levels combined with a single 15" sub. Of course everyone's mileage varies dependent on listening levels and tastes, but this configuration satisfies my requirements without being stretched at all and my music preferences run the gamut from hard rock to classical and jazz.

Given the price difference between 3.7i and 30.7 (!) or even the 20.7 I'm more inclined to believe that an amplification upgrade, if needed and desired, would be money better spent.

Cheers,
AuPh
