You'll have to read the technical information (White Paper) on the SandersSound website to get a better understanding of Roger's amplifier topology. It is fully line voltage regulated, the efficiency approaching 100%. The amp runs warm at full power (900 wpc driving 4 ohm loads), not hot and is stone cold on idle.
The power consumption on idle is approximately 40 watts. The lunch isn't free, but very low calorie.
