"How did the two amps compare in soundstage, imaging, and overall three dimensionality?"
The Magtech has slightly better dimensionality, but the Wyred4Sound SX1000R's were no slouches in that department. The W4S imaged with pin-point accuracy, a little more forward presentation and soundstage width (probably contributed to by the slightly forward presentation); clean sounding to a fault, ...but depending on the music the word sterile might apply.
Sander's Magtech amp's A/B topology has a richness and slightly warmer presentation combined with the other gear in my system, but both the Magtech and the W4S monoblocks are excellent performers. I haven't heard any of the Class D amps with Ncore. Of coarse, room size and musical preferences also factor into the amount of power needed and/or desired.
Cheers,
