"Automatic room correction is not the way to go."I can understand someone saying that if you're talking using it full-range as some DSP units are not all that transparent. However with care and the right choices, DSP works very well for subs only, IMHO, where the ear is less sensitive to phase/delay variations and distortion. Also, even with a 100Hz LP filter crossed over at a 24dB/octave slope, there's still usable correctable response up to about 250Hz depending on the size of the peak.
