RE: My 20.7 are breaking in. But I can say they are better at lower levels than my former 3.6

Similar problem with the air return system on our central heating/cooling system. Low level listening can rarely be enjoyed without boosting the volume to compensate for increased BD noise from the air conditioner cycle kicking in every 30 minutes or so. The only reasonable option is to start listening at a higher volume or increase it intermittently to compensate for added background noise.

Most of the time I listen to music at relatively high volume, whether classical, jazz or rock. This allows full appreciation of the clean, dynamic, dimensional music that a Maggie 3.7i system is capable of delivering. Listening to music purely as background has never been my cuppa, but in a smaller listening room without air return noise distractions, there'd be more options. In fact, in a smaller space a subwoofer might not even be required to appreciate Maggie's musicality at a more moderate listening level.

Cheers,
AuPh
