Replaced my jumper with a pair of Mouser 5502's a couple of years ago. They eliminated the shrill and tamed the highs significantly and I have an incredible listening experience.....about 80% of the time. The problem with Maggies is they're of course extremely revealing. When recording engineers pump up good, deep bass I'm in awe (ie John Barry's "Main Title (expanded) / Looks Like a Suicide" on the Dances with wolves soundtrack, folks will swear you have a pair of Thor's hammers hidden in the room). But when engineers use an overly sensitive mic or for whatever reason pump up the treble on certain recordings, Maggies (especially the T/ribbon tweeter) will hand it to you full course on a silver platter resulting in such a overly sizzling hot cymbal I"m reaching for the next button.
IMO the key in creating (near) perfect harmony is finding good speaker and interconnect cables. The anti cables seen below were good but in the end didn't work out in my setup and were replaced by a set of cables (brand forgotten) thrown in with by a someone selling their tube amps. They worked out well enough for me to live with the 80%.
