What about something like CBS All Access, which I currently have for watching Star Trek (and will drop like a hot potato when it's over)? I've always liked the versatility of just using a PC for this. Also allowed me to surf the Internet on the projector while I was listening.

I use an iPad as the controller for the system which allows for doing those other things.

I've avoided setting up any kind of server (except for the Logitech Squeezbox stuff back in the day) because the metadata on my audio files is so inconsistent. I just play off the file structure, organized by composer.

Fix it using something like Tag & Rename. No biggie.

I just went with the Lynx card because the comparative reviews I read said it was the best sounding SPDIF source.

I'd still rather use a quiet battery source in lieu of a switcher.
