Relatively small room size along with moderate listening levels should be ok IMO. If bass is a requirement I'd look into a sub regardless of the Maggie model. I had a pair of Quicksliver V4 which cranked out 120w each; yet even with that amount of wattage they sounded a bit anemic through my MMGs (to be fair they really don't open up and bloom until I run a pair of Emotiva 1K watt pumped through them). It was only when I ran the Q4s bi-amp'd (mids/tweeter) through my MG20s did they sound glorious. After a year I decided to sell them to free up some money. As in any product comparisons there are trade offs; although tubes are great sounding and obviously flexible (ie tube rolling) it can get a bit expensive. At the end of the day I feel SS amps are quicker and tighter, and dollar-for-dollar a great value for the music I listen to.
Btw my listening experiences are never the 'norm', and should never be interpreted as such; meaning: 'YMMV'.
