RE: Anyone bypassed the stock jumpers om the Maggie 1.7i's

Agree with the resilience of the quasi ribbon. I bypassed the fuses on my MG1.6s many years ago and the improvement was so significant I almost pee'd my pants (sorry but that sounds a heck of a lot better than 'cried like a baby' like I almost did). Anyway, the improvement was so great (at least to my ears) these could have been sold as the 'next step up' model-and I would've gladly paid the difference. And yet the transition was free of charge. And I know this wasn't simply a whim, nor an anomaly for the conditions couldn't have been better: the same room, the same components, the same position, the same time of day. The house was empty and quiet.

OK here we go: cue the huge letters: "YMMV" because some have noted NO change, better or worse. And yes- you might as well flush the warranty down the toilet because Magnepan will definitely give you the "we told you so" were something to happen to their beloved panels.

My contention on why a fuse is used at all is most likely an industry-wide underwriters condition/legal issue; I mean lets face it, as long as this hobby continues on, folks have and will continue to hook up all kinds of 'stuff' to their speakers.
