I'd research it, ask the owner if he were the original owner, what type of climate it predominately lived in, etc.,. and check his radial pulse to see if he's lying lol.. But hey; if it passed the test tone test I'd grab that dinosaur. And if it became unplayable after four/five years then I'd offer it on Audiomart for a song. Someone would grab it.At the end of the day this hobby, like so many others is all about taking risk and chances. Fortunately I did ok with my Duettas Sigs and MG20s after 3 yrs and 5 yrs respectively.
