Similar experience with my better half and my Acoustat Monitor 4's. When I got them she kvetched and whined about their size. Called them perfect for use as dressing screens. Now that she's fully aware of what they can do, I'm pretty sure you'd have to fight her if you tried to remove them from the listening room.
