It's a 3 car garage and two are used within it but I'd have to buy or build a shed to store whats currently stored in it. My wife is a pack rat and rarely throws anything away. I have my share of boxes and footlockers full of stuff as well. I WAS going to buy a storage shed for her stuff but then I got to thinking; hmmm what happens when the shed gets full and other things start piling up....so I ditched that idea knowing it will wind up in the garage. Plus she collects clothing and other items for Burmese refugees that arrive in the community. I knew this going in so I can't say I blame her.Side note- funny thing is out here garages are often converted into studio apartments or even full size apartments and can demand anywhere from $600-$1300 month. That's not necessarily anything I'd want to do, I'm in no hurry to become a landlord in this economy.
Basements in California are rare. There's a common misconception that this is due to potential earthquakes; that isn't true ; and unfortunately it's a shame since that would open up a lot room for HT and/or storage. Oh well, 1st world problems as usual...
