For that price point a used Quad 606 or 707 might be a better SS option. I used a 606 with Gallo Reference 3's for a couple of years before moving the amp to my main system when I pulled the trigger on a sweet pair of Maggie 3.7i. The Quad powered my 3.7i for several months before I purchased a Sanders MagTech amp (one of the best current production SS amps for larger Maggies bar none, IMO).
The 3.7i's pushed the little Quad current dumping amp to the point of getting borderline hot, but it never failed to perform with gusto even though never providing the headroom and bass control of the Sanders amp. With the MMGs I'd think used or refurbed Quad 606 might be an ideal match for your budget (with quite a bit less strain and sufficient headroom since the MMG's are smaller speakers). My 2 cents.
