My musical journey, from skids to stardom... (grin)
Marantz amp (70's) ... can't recall the model (integrated; all transistor)
VFET amplifier (late 70's) ... warm sounding amp, but lots of VFET failures; quickly discontinued by SONY after warranty expired (boat anchor)
Pioneer integrated amps (mid 80's - mid 90's) ... more for HT application, LD video & CD (my musical journey went off-road due to disillusionment and desire for convenience)
Transcendent SC-150 monoblocks (late 90's) Bruce Rozenblit's tube amps helped me find my way out of the wilderness; great soundstage depth - (amps currently decommissioned, but my first choice for back-up; ready to serve)
Monarchy Audio SE100 Deluxe monoblocks (2005) not the best resolving Class A amps ... limited soundstage & F/B depth ... but otherwise tight from top to bottom - (decommissioned, boxed, but ready to serve or sell)
Quad 909 (2010) - in use, second system; warm analogue sounding amp with a nice soundstage presentation ... produces lots of heat although it handles difficult loads well, but a little soft on top
Sanders Magtech (2014) - in use, main system; neutral sounding amp with plenty of clean power ... excellent soundstage & F/B depth ... plays well with others (tube sources and Maggies)
