"There And Back Again" a Maggie Lovers Tale by RickeyM

My MG-2.5R's are up and running again! A quick re-cap. Several years ago after a DIY re-wire and a not so great broken wire repair my 2.5R's were mothballed. I dabbled with Monkey Coffins for a while and even put together a very good pair of Infinities. A freak accident blew both EMIT's in the Infinities so it was either spend money on new tweets or collect the far flung parts and re-assemble the Maggies. So, the various bits of the outboard x-o's were gathered & assembled. New DIY stands were made. The panel was re-wired (kit was ordered long before Winter set in) and everything was assembled.
Actually, I played the woofers first before I installed the ribbons, straight up, no crossover. Interesting, a serious midrange peak going on. Also a bit bass shy but I figured it sounded that way because of the elevated midrange. I installed the ribbons and connected the x-overs and everything was much more balanced, but still a bit bass shy. I pulled the panels out from 27-inches to 36-inches and HEY there's bass in them panels! After a few days of playing to loosen the panels up, they sure sound sweet. Now I have to properly house the crossovers and find my mag wires, if I can pry myself out of my listening chair =)
