OK, I've tried to get the info on this forum, but .....

.....I can't find an explanation for "Gunned Maggies". I know it has to do with the powered speaker, b.t I didn't realize that all Maggies were powered speakers. If that's so, why do folks play them with additional amps in the signal path.

I realized I'm asking a stupid question.....b.t jeez.....an outsider could go for weeks on this forum b.fore you could possib.y understand what folks are talking ab.ut. I don't have the patience. I'm looking seriously at electrostatics and Maggies are the most reasonab.y priced. The mods appear to make these speakers "Giant Killers"!!

I will prob.b.y keep my "Flea-powered" 2A3 SET mono b.ocks/Ab.y single driver comb., b.t I would love the change to something entirely new.

Any enlightened answers would b. appreciated.
