Hello,
The speakers sound really good and require the least EQ of any speaker I've ever owned. I have to EQ the base a little bit to tame a couple of room nodes. They sound big and rich and smooth, and are a pleasure to listen to.
The floor is carpet over concrete. Your room is about the size of mine (17.5' x 25'), although mine opens out further into an L shape behind the listening position.
What Apogees do you own? Interestingly, I wound up buying these speakers because of a brief period of having a pair of Apogees in my room for a week. I fell in love with the sound of the Apogees. They were Mini Grands, and I liked the sound of panel without the sub-woofer best. I really wanted to buy them, but the panels vibrated badly on certain bass notes. The owner of the speakers tried to solve the issue but failed. I think they had the best sounding midrange of any speaker I've ever heard.
Alan
