RE: I buy new for many reasons

You know what, for the money, I bet the 20.7 will be the best overall deal. They are Huge and will be able to bring that sense of physical 'presence' which only Big planars can bring to a big room.

You mentioned the new abode will have a large listening area - I have heard undersized planars in big roooms and they just sound kinda sad.

The Sanders, while I am sure is a very nice product, is only about as big as a 1.7.

Another thing to consider is - are you a tweaker kind of guy? The Sanders comes with quite a lot of flexibility out of the box, but I suspect once it's set up, tweakability will plateau. On the other hand, while no one yet (to my knowledge) has torn into the .7 series to actively cross over, bi or tri-amp, etc, you can be sure it WILL BE DONE over the next decade! I suspect the 20.7 will just be 'hitting their stride' in user support and tweaks a decade from now. In the meantime, it's a VERY nice stock product, and will only get better with age and aftermarket/user tweak support.
