RE: My Magnepan 1.6QR DIY Upgrade II: Going Active!!

While I understand the ultimate value of a calibrated mic for absolute measurements, I think my main point of posting was to show that the relative curves of before (with passive crossover) and after (with active crossover) measure very similar.

With an uncalibrated mic, but using the same mic for both measurements, I think there is still value and demonstrates that the active filter crossover slopes match the passive stock magnepan slopes.

Also, when one looks at the calibration curves for the mics, the highs and lows tend to have the most variation. Between 100-10000hz the response is pretty flat. I on purposed focused on measuring mainly the crossover frequency region.

Anyway, back on to the topic of this thread, I thought it was very neat the way the theory of neolith's simulated curves ended up measuring in real life so close. Now on to more listening of my DIY upgrade!
