My 10yr old MMG's were slightly tacky when new, and still are. They do look slightly green, not bad. Always in an air-conditioned environment, no exposure to moisture or cold. One panel had a lifted wire, but it was near one of the 'tuning plugs' or whatever those things are, and was under a bit of stress from the factory.
My new 1.7's seem to be slightly tacky as well.
This may be a case of 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' ;)
