I have never met a person in person (have to make that qualification in this age of electronic socialization) who were not impressed with the Maggies. In fact, I am one of the folks who have helped sell many a pair of MMG's!
It is usually a case of an 'average' person with their big-box name-brand stereo, some of them rather expensive, who come over and listen to jazz, guitar, Krall, Steely Dan, Floyd, etc on MMG's. They have not failed to be blown away. They have never been sucked into the music before. They were sold on the shiny lights, polished surfaces, and bassy boom in the store, but have never heard beautiful music the way Maggies can do it.
Memorably, I once transported my MMG's, a 50wpc amp, and a cd player to a friends house 8hrs away as part of a weekend visit. My friend had been an audio nut for 10yrs at least, with a collection of typical box speakers. We set up the Maggie system in the middle of his large listening room, threw on Krall at a moderate level, and he was transfixed... for hours.
I (and I'm sure many of the others on this board) should get commission! ;) but we do it cause we LOVE it.
